Mamen Morillas is a multidisciplinary artist and designer, with a passion for narrative and storytelling.
Graduated in graphic design, and illustration by Massana Art School, holds a MA in Motion Graphics by LABASAD (Barcelona)
Her knowledge in graphics helped her to jump into digital illustration at a very early stage, starting her career as a professional illustrator during her second year of studies, after winning an illustration prize organized by La Vanguardia newspaper and Generalitat de Barcelona.
Since then she has collaborated with multiple publications, brands and events bringing a very personal style that characterizes all her work, combining dosis of humor, naiveté, criticism, darkness and fantasy.
Parallel to her work as an illustrator, and motivated for a deep personal necessity of research and experimentation, she developed an artistic career in which she produces a much more personal and intimate work. Her artistic practice, based primarily on drawing, ceramic and embroidery, explores from an autobiographical and fantastic point of view feelings, thoughts, desires and personal experiences that have marked her in some special way, as well as the relationship that human beings establishes with the environment and other beings around them, especially interested in nature, creating funny atmospheres where the viewer must wonder.
Senior lecturer of the MA illustration program of BAU since 2009. Associated lecturer of LCCA from 2017.
